But dogs are faithful, and Boo the pit bull? He patiently waited on a mattress in hopes his family would return, according to WAOW. Boo lived on the streets for about a month, with neighbors stepping in to feed the abandoned dog.
Diesel founded Detroit Youth & Dog Rescue. The rescue's mission is to "Change the world through compassion and understanding for all creatures on Mother Earth and rescue every dog we can whenever possible!!!"
But Boo wasn't ready to trust just anyone. Diesel told Inside Edition, “As far as building up the trust that started Sunday the 16th at 2:30 p.m. when I arrived and I stayed that night until 1 a.m. talking and getting acquainted with Boo and feeding him different food items."
The solution to building Boo's trust? Sausage McMuffins. Diesel returned the next day with two Sausage McMuffins and some hash browns, planning to eat them for breakfast. But Boo ended up receiving the meal instead.
But Diesel's vigil wasn't over. Diesel told Inside Edition, “It took another 4-5 hours that day before I ended up getting a leash around his neck and then we just sat on the ground and talked for 45 minutes before I had enough trust for him to allow me to pick him up and we went directly to the vet."
