This is Rebeca and Renato Sinohara, a couple from Brazil who recently got married. And while the wedding ceremony was special, it was something in the pre-wedding stage that got the internet talking. Here's the story.
In the lead up to the wedding, Rebeca was looking at the wedding prep photos of other brides with their bridesmaids. And then she started to feel bad, because she doesn't have many close female friends to have the same experience. However, she eventually found a solution.
Rebeca realized she could simply take the same kinds of wedding prep photos with all her closest friends...who all happen to be guys. She asked the dudes, and they agreed. The results were these photos.
Rebeca and her Bro-maids had a great time doing all the things typically done with the bridal party before the wedding. Meanwhile, all the action was captured by photographer Fernando Duque. And once the photos were done, they were naturally posted on Facebook.
All of Rebeca's wedding prep photos can be found here. And once they got out to the public, the Internet went crazy for them. Her photo album, titled "The Making Of," has over 71,000 likes and over 21,000 comments.
So how does a woman not have any close female friends for her bridal party? It can probably be explained with Rebeca's caption on her photo album: "When the bride doesn't have any girlfriends, it's time to call her bros. This is what happens to a girl in Computer Engineering."
Rebeca explained it further in an interview with Buzzfeed. "In my engineering classroom there were 56 guys and only four girls," she said. "It's not like I had a lot of choice."
"Of course I have girlfriends from childhood and high school but we are not as close as before," she continued, "but none of them I became BFFs with." She added that, "I always knew that I wouldn't have a gang of girls to be bridesmaids and to sit together putting on makeup and all before the event." Fortunately, it doesn't appear that she's missing out.
At one point, the guys helped Rebeca out with her makeup. At the same time, they prettied up their own faces with a shave. Although it's not clear why the one guy on her right is slowly turning into a bear.
But when it was time to shave her legs, the guys all stepped in and joined her. These guys were clearly all in when it comes to supporting their friend. (Although there's no word if any waxing also took place.)
The dude bridesmaids even got to see the wedding gown before the ceremony. "They are really great friends," she said. "I had no doubt they would do this for me."
From here, it looks like the evening eventually turned into a highly-choreographed song-and dance number. Looks like the evening had just about everything. Or, at least, almost everything.
One thing missing from the photos so far is the groom Renato. It turns out that he was there watching the whole time. And he couldn't help but want to get in on the fun.
Here's Renato, finally getting into the middle of the action. Of course, when all this was done, they still had to do the actual wedding. And that was probably a great experience for the happy couple as well.
"Renato and I share a great love," Rebeca said. "It's easy for people to see and feel that when they are around us." As for her guy friends in the photos, she said, "I can say for sure all the five guys cried."
