Unfortunately, as mentioned, this makes some close-minded individuals uncomfortable. Huntwork received backlash from strangers simply for nourishing her child. This is sadly nothing new for her or many other mothers.
This poem resonated with several mothers and went viral. The post has been shared more than 145,000 times, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The comments are filled with mothers sharing their stories of feeding in public and agreeing that the needs of their children come first.
As if this wasn't enough, Huntwork followed up her viral post with an inspiring message to everyone willing to listen.
"Please do not ever think that your voice is not loud or important enough to make a difference. My dad took a funny picture (yes, the picture) for my grandma and Mom's friends and I did what I do best, wrote something snarky."
"That little picture and poem has made it all over the world! It's changed minds, it's allowed me to educate the uneducated. It's done good! That's all I've ever wanted to do with my life. Help others."
