What started off as an innocent attempt to change the water in Dane’s fishbowl, ended in Dane attempting to escape Finding Nemo style and unfortunately he was flushed down the toilet never to be seen again. Just keep swimming?
In order for Brooke to change the water in Dane’s bowl, she took him out and put him in another cup with water. When she put him back in the new clean bowl, Dane seemed to be fine at first and then sadly, he died. Or so we thought.
Thinking that he bit the big one, Brooke sends him off and gives him a proper burial by flushing him down the toilet. As soon and she presses the lever, Dane perks up and starts swimming. But it was too late. The swirl of the toilet got the best of him. RIP Dane. Or Maybe he wanted this to happen? Maybe he was playing dead and this was an elaborate escape plan? You can watch the video here.
"I was changing his water because it was beginning to get muggy and he wasn’t acting right. When I was finished cleaning the bowl, I had to pick him up to put him in his new water so that I didn’t mix his old dirty water with new water. He started swimming for like five seconds when I put him in there and then he suddenly just dropped dead. So we gave him about two minutes and then decided we needed to have a ceremony for him at the toilet. As soon as I dropped him in the toilet, I pushed the flush button. But then Dane began to swim again."
She would like people to know that she loves animals and she would never do anything to hurt one. She even wants to study to be a veterinarian at NC State. Hey, she deserves another chance, I just don't know if I would trust her with my fish.
