Clowns have made quite the comeback in the last few years. Last year there were numerous clown sightings in the woods. These clowns were terrorizing people in various locations in the US and people were in a full on panic.
There were sightings of clowns trying to lure kids into the woods with candy and even money. Kids were terrified, their parents were terrified, everyone was terrified. People were so afraid that the news was providing tips on what to do if you see a clown.
And don’t forget that the remake ofITis set to come out in September of this year. Yet another great another reason to be terrified of clowns. We still aren’t over the original IT, which got us in this position to begin with! Clowns were cute before then!
Well, for those of you who like the thrill and want to really set your clown fear into overdrive, I have some news for you. There is a Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada. If you want to have nightmares for the rest of your life, you are in luck.
When you pull up to the motel, you are greeted with an old, illuminated sign with a juggling clown. It’s already a horror show and you aren’t even there yet. Motels are bad enough, but a Clown Motel? I think I may pass out.
The sign promises “clean rooms” and “singles for 39.50”. Wow, what a steal! Look, they are also advertising promising dish TV and the fact that you can bring your pets. This may be worth it after all. Or not.
And if you are brave enough to get a room, you will learn that every one of their rooms is clown-themed. Well, it better be if it’s called the Clown Motel. You paid good money to be surrounded by horrible creepy clowns, so you better get what you paid for!
And as if this wasn’t creepy enough for you, the Clown Motel is located in Tonopah, which is considered to be a ghost town. It is a former mining town that was once thriving and had 50,000 people living in it. The town was where the second-largest discovery of silver in the history of the state of Nevada was made.
And as if the hotel isn’t creepy enough as is, it is right next door to an old cemetery. You can enjoy the clowns on the walls and then enjoy the view of the many wooden-and-tin headstones and dusty graves all at the same time! Sounds like a dream vacation.
You would think that their Yelp page would be full of haunted stories. Clowns appearing in their rooms or ghosts visiting from the cemetery, but no. It’s mostly just a nod to free WiFi and a complimentary “mini breakfast”.
While the reviews don’t report anything scary about it, the Clown Motel has been called “America’s scariest motel”. So if you like the thrill, why don’t you go visit? With clowns back on our radar, I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
