Most kids will ‘eww’ at anything. Their mother dancing. Their father singing. Their mother naked. Their parents naked together. You get the point.

One special girl, however, is quite immune to the whole ‘eww’ process. Jacee Dellapena, a 12-year-old girl from Mississippi is impressing everyone online. This girl has done something most of us will never dare to do — help someone give birth.

Jacee wanted to help her mother give birth to her brother. Sibling love can be an amazing thing in itself. And yet, with Jacee helping her brother be born is taking the relationship to another level from the very first breath of the child.

Talking to Bored Panda, Jacee’s mother explained her reason for allowing her daughter to attend the birth of her brother. “Jacee wanted to attend Zadyn’s birth 18 months ago but we felt she was too young to attend. So this pregnancy her dad and I discussed it and decided it might be a good learning experience for her!”

Some parents would think it’s too much of an experience for a 12-year-old but Jacee’s mother, Dede, thinks otherwise. She sees nothing wrong with letting her daughter attend the birth of her brother. She didn’t even see anything wrong with letting her daughter play an active role and help pull her brother out.

Dede shared her reasons for allowing her daughter in the delivery room and why other parents should consider letting their kids be present. “If a child has hit puberty and is appropriate age and maturity level to learn about the body and sex Ed, parents should allow him or her to watch in child’s birth.” The kid should be willing too, as Jacee clearly was.

Jacee was there for the entire process. She spent her time motivating her mother and supporting her like a pro. This girl (and her strong stomach) has ‘doctor-in-the-making’ written all over her

Her mother, Dede, thought that her daughter was of huge help during this experience. “Watching Jacee’s expressions on her face were like no other. Concentrating on her face while I pushed helped me so much!” she said.

The story made news online. Jacee has captured people’s hearts. Her facial expressions during the whole experience are so raw, you cannot help but like this girl.

There this photo of Jacee with the doctor as they witness her brother being born. Her expression is priceless. This girl fully appreciates the miracle of birth. 

The next photo shows Jacee helping to pull her brother out. She seems in awe of the whole process. Her gasp needs no words. 

Maybe she thought it best to join her brother in a bout of crying at this point. Jacee looks so emotional here. Moreover, she looks unbothered by all of the mush on her brother. 

The girl was also the one to cut the umbilical cord. Look at her face, she looks terrified. We would be too if we were trusted with a pair of scissors near a newborn. 

We've been focusing on the girl so much we haven't credited the boy just yet. This guy is a keeper. He was born and he made his sister cry in less than 24 hours. He's good. 

And to think, this tiny, unassuming purple-haired girl whose newborn brother looks too big for her hands has helped her mother give birth. This girl has done something not many of us have the guts to do. More than that, she has done it with grace and maturity.
