Easter is just around the corner and with it comes our favorite part of the holiday...CANDY! Whether it be jelly beans, chocolate, or Peeps, it's the time of year when we can really chow down on our favorite sugary treats without guilt or remorse. (Okay, maybe a little guilt and remorse.)
That being said, not all Easter Candy is created equal. Someone's yum might be another person's yuck. And when someone hates an Easter candy...they really hate it. Which begs the questions: What is the worst Easter candy?
Starting off at number ten is generic (not fancy) jelly beans. With higher quality jelly beans available, as well as jelly beans with unique flavors, these old-school versions tend to be universally poo-pooed, with one person surveyed saying, "We used to throw those jelly beans at squirrels."
At number nine are chocolate crosses. Yeah, these are definitely weird to eat. We get why, but still, it's hard to enjoy something like this. One of the comments for this candy aptly stated, "It’s a torture device, but in chocolate!"
If you enjoy Circus Peanuts, these are for you. If you are a sane person, however, and understand that anything resembling Circus Peanuts is a HARD PASS, then you'll understand why these are considered one of the worst Easter candies, with one person who took the survey commenting, " There are sort of just weird. I don’t get them. Not good."
Look! It's Halloween candy corn's-cooler looking cousin. It tastes exact the same as the original (for those of you who are into that kind of thing), just with prettier colors. One of those surveyed complained, "Ok slightly more appealing because it’s prettier, but still candy corn."
Peeps tend to always be on people's worst candies list, Easter or not. Why? Cause it's like eating sugary foam. But if that's your thing...you do you. But for some people, it's like one commenter said: "It’s weird. They’re weird. They make me feel weird. This situation needs to be avoided."
You know when you have two good friends and you think they should start dating, so you set them up and it's a complete dumpster fire? Yeah, this candy is exactly like that. As one commenter said, "Come on, like … why?"
And if you're amazed that these didn't hit the top spot, well, there's a good reason for it. Because the number one worst candy is....
It ain't Easter if there ain't any Cadbury Creme Eggs. And it also ain't Easter if there ain't no intense hatred for Cadbury Creme Eggs. The love of hating these truly outweighs the actual love of them. Generation after generation have experienced the Cadbury Creme Egg phenomenon during Easter, and it (or the distaste for it) will never go away. One commenter summed it up perfectly, saying: "You gotta get one, just because. But no one actually eats it."
