It's officially summer! Time to work on your tan, day drink, have casual hookups, and just in general live your best life.
Oh...what's that? You're a grown-up who has responsibilities like...I don't know...a job? Yeah, us too. For anyone over the age of 22, summer is really just another three months in the year. In fact, for many of us, all that summer means is this...
News flash: Summer is hot. A lot of your time in this season is spent trying to just be cool and comfortable without losing your mind. And if you don't have air conditioning, that can be damn near impossible. We over here at Guff found that out the hard way. Here's our story:
Recently we moved our creative staff out of our offices and into a studio space. (Yay!) We got a super cool, renovated garage in a super cool neighborhood in LA. (Double yay!) But our super cool, renovated garage in our super cool neighborhood was missing one thing:
A/C. (Boo. All the boos.)
So during the hottest times of the year in a city that is typically warm year-round, we moved into a garage with no cooling units. How did it feel? Like this...
Working in an overheated space eight hours a day is a surefire way to want to kill your co-workers. (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Todd!) It's also a surefire way to not be productive as you should be. As awesome as this new studio was, there was no way we were going to last the entire summer unless we could find an easy way to cool off.
The Honeywell Portable Cooler is not just a fan; it's an air cooler that reduces the temperature through water evaporation. A fan alone creates a breeze by recirculating warm air, but when you add water to the cooler it transforms that warm air into a cool, moist breeze.
And if we're being honest here, none of us are real handy when it comes to home improvement. But this cooling system was so easy to use that even us simpletons over at Guff could figure it out. Just fill up the tank, plug it in, turn it on, get cool.
Air conditioning requires a chemical cooling refrigerant and an energy-consuming compressor to operate, which consumes significantly more electricity. But the Honeywell Evaporative Air Cooler doesn't. So you are getting the same amount of cool breeze as an A/C without the strain on the electricity grid.
The cooler has three speeds, as well as swinging louvers that cover the entire area, indoors or outdoors. I mean, look at this guy.* See how chill he looks? See how focused he is at his job? That's because of the Honeywell Cooler.
And did we mention that it's portable? Yeah, this thing's got wheels and is incredibly lightweight, making it easy to move from place to place. This has proven invaluable in our office as Todd tends to hog it when he's around. (Yeah, I said it Todd. I'm not scared!)
So even if you haven't moved into a new workspace that feels like you are on the surface of the sun, you'll still wanna get a Honeywell Evaporative Air Cooler. It's perfect for your patio, BBQ areas, garage, deck, backyard, basically anywhere you know it's going to be hot. And if this thing can make a job more pleasant, imagine what it can do for you when you're actually enjoying the summer.
