If the election has your heart racing and stomach churning, you have company. But there are ways to manage it.
1. Only One Joker?
You know, ever since Heath Ledger played the Joker, it has been hard to bring this infamous Batman character to life by someone else. Ledger put his soul into the character. He raised every hair on our body with this uncanny smile. Plus, dying soon after finishing that role just made this actor all the more immortal.
More than that, rumors are going around that Leonardo DiCaprio will play the new Joker. Now, I know what you’re thinking, what about Jared Leto? The latter did a great job playing the Joker in Suicide Squad.
The writers behind This Is Us are set to write and direct the love story between the Joker and Harley Quinn. Will it be a tear jerker? Well, these writers kind of excel at bringing us to tears. But let’s hope the story also has that edginess the Joker and Quinn are best known for. Anyway, moving on…
The question is, is it possible for two movies with two different Jokers to do well at the box office? I don’t know. I don’t think you know either. But hey, we don’t have to answer this question. We don’t even have to dish out millions of dollars to make these movies, so let’s forget about this question, shall we?
Instead, let’s focus on daydreaming about a world where DiCaprio is the Joker. You see, the rumors started after Martin Scorcese was listed as one of the producers of the new Joker movie. Usually, where there is Scorcese, there’s DiCaprio.
It’s safe to say that Scorcese and DiCaprio work well together. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if we saw DiCaprio take the role of the Joker. Some even believe Scorcese was brought on just to convince the actor to take the role.
For now, these are just rumors. Nobody has confirmed anything. Plus, DiCaprio is probably on vacation as he always is during the summer so I’m sure we’ll have to wait a while before we get an answer to this burning question.
The actor has played many roles that have made us swoon. He broke women all over the world for a whole year when Titanic came out. He even shattered those already broken pieces when he played the naïve/cruel prince in The Man in the Iron Mask. Ah, I miss vintage Leo sometimes.
He’s also taken on roles that showed his maturity and incredible acting skills. Eating real raw meat in The Revenant showed real commitment. While his persistence and obsession in Inception kept us wondering long after the movie was over.
