Jack Radcliffe, a photographer, began taking photos of his daughter, Alison, even before she was born. In 1974, he started with photos of his pregnant wife. Then, he continued on the day she was born in 1975.
However, Radcliffe says on his website, "In the process of documenting Alison's growth, I developed a passionate interest in human relationships and capturing intimate moments in the lives of family and friends."
Underlying all the photos, Radcliffe writes, is "her relationship with me, a constant throughout her life." You don't necessarily always think about the subject's relationship with the photographer, but there's very clearly a meaningful connection here.
This moving photo series is as much about capturing Alison's life as it is about Alison's relationship with her father and others throughout her life. It's truly breathtaking and moving. You can see the rest of the photos at Jack Radcliffe's website.
