Whether it be enjoying a night of fireworks or simply sending a thank you to all who serve and have served, the Fourth of July is nothing but good times for Americans. There is nothing more American than throwing back some beers — unless you choose to do it while reciting the Declaration of Independence. 'Merica, my friends.
There is nothing better than the smell of the grill and waving some sparklers around on this patriotic holiday. Not matter how you like to fix your burger, there's always enough booze and snacks to go around. Things can get a bit rowdy, but it all part of the American way.
Some see a garbage bag, others see a Slip 'N Slide, and this is where some of the most memorable summer fun is born. Block parties are literally the backbone of partying in America, and they are never short of unexpected moments. Irresponsible use of fireworks is just the beginning.
A block party in Asheville, North Carolina seemed to upset some nearby neighbors, and the police were shortly called to the scene. The complaint was handled by two Asheville police officers, and no one was ready for their reaction when they arrived at the party. Things got super messy.
A neighbor complained that the party's manmade Slip 'N Slide was obstructing the road. There was also a noise complaint filed, so someone was definitely upset that they weren't part of the fun festivities. They hoped the party would abruptly end once law enforcement arrived, but they were sadly mistaken.
Asheville police officers Carrie Lee and Joe Jones arrived on scene to determine is party was truly a nuisance. Once the two officers arrived they determined the block party was fine and perfectly safe. Their next prerogative shocked everyone in attendance!
Both officers decided to cool off a bit and take a ride down the Slip 'N Slide. The homemade Slip 'N Slide was set up by a resident dad that wanted to help the neighborhood kids beat the heat. "When the police came, they quickly realized that wasn't the case and asked if they could take a turn," neighborhood resident Katlen Joyce Smith stated.
No one was expecting the cops to join in on the festivities. “When the female officer asked for a garbage bag, we almost didn’t believe it. But she took off her radio and went for it,” Smith said. Officer Carrie Lee grabbed the bag and made her way down the Slip 'N Slide without hesitation.
The second police officer was eager to take his turn. Officer Joe Jones couldn't fit in a garbage bag, but that didn't stop him from joining in. A neighborhood child fetched him a raft and so he could take a trip down the block!
"I thought I was going to be able to get out of it because I'm too big to fit in a trash bag, but then when the kids pulled out this big raft ... I had no choice," Officer Jones stated. Both officers took turns reliving one of the best childhood memories, and residents couldn't help but take some pictures and videos for proof!
"I still can't handle the amazingness of it all. I hope the neighbor who called them saw it all go down," resident Smith wrote on Facebook. The story about these two Asheville, North Carolina police officers has gone insanely viral. Internet-goers can't get over this awesome act of summertime fun!

Many Facebook users backed up the police officers' decision to keep the fun going, and they are hoping the bitter neighbor that made the call saw all of the action firsthand. Some people need to stop taking life so seriously, and maybe a trip down a Slip 'N Slide would help!
