“He’d bark. He’d come toward me, then he’d run away, and he continued to do this,” Christopher Bisceglia said. So, officer Bisceglia followed the little pooch. "At one point, he let me pet him as though he was trying to say, "'OK, come on! Keep coming with me!'"
As officer Bisceglia kept following Jacques, he heard little Annabelle. “And I got close enough and I ended up hearing the female terrier, was down the embankment stuck on a downed tree. She was trapped and surrounded by water and it was all ice of steep embankment so she couldn’t get back up,” officer Bisceglia said.
Firefighters were then called and they retrieved the little terrier from the icy slope.
“It doesn’t surprise me, especially dogs that have been together a long time and they become very bonded with each other and they’re very intelligent," said Jennifer Arsenault. "People don’t give dogs half the credit they deserve."
James Barfield, a 79-year-old man from Dallas, was taking his morning walk with Franky when two men approached him and mugged him. Barfield suffered from broken bones in his face and when he was shoved to the ground he was kicked repeatedly.
Two dogs were lost in Vashon, Wash., after they got out of the house. Tillie is an 11-year-old Irish settler and spaniel mix who is super loyal to her four-year-old sister Phoebe. Phoebe ended up falling in a cistern, and was stuck there for a week. Tillie would not leave her side, only occasionally to wander around to the neighboring house to try to find a human. Tillie was eventually spotted and followed to the hole Phoebe fell into. Now the dogs are safe and sound back home, and their owner purchased them GPS collars so they can't get lost again.
Isn’t it just the cutest when dogs are best friends? Dogs are very loyal animals and there have been countless cases where the animals have shown courage and have tried to help their furry and human friends.
