Inspiration is right at your fingertips with these fresh and elegant nail designs.
1. Hombre Nails
Step One: Paint your nails with a base color. We chose pink.
Step Two: With a toothpick, delicately mix the ends of two colors (we chose red and a light pink) in your pallet.
Step Three: Dab your pallet with a sponge.
Step Four: Dab your sponge onto your nails to the desired effect. Apply your top coat and you're done!
2. Marble Nails
Step One: Cover your nails with a base color. We chose a nice violet.
Step Two: Once the violet sets, cover a nail with a coat of grey.
Step Three: While the nail is still wet, dab it with crumpled up plastic wrap, to the desired effect. Don't forget that top coat!
3. Polka Dot Half Moon
Step One: Paint your nails a nice coral (you can get creative with any color, though!)
Step Two: Using a dotter (a bobby pin also works!) dot a light pink in a half-circle.
Step Three: Repeat step two, but with a gold polish. Apply a top coat and give yourself a wink in the mirror.
4. Hole Punch Heart
Step One: Paint your nails white.
Step Two: Using a heart-shaped hole puncher, punch a hole into a strip of tape.
Step Three: Gently secure the tape over a nail.
Step Four: Now the tape is a stencil! Paint over the hole.
Step Five: GENTLY remove the tape and apply a top coat.
5. Two Toned
Step One: With two base coats (we chose green and yellow), paint your nails in alternating colors.
Step Two: Gently apply hole reinforcers (that you can buy in any office supply section) to the bottom half of your nails.
Step Three: Apply polish to the top half of your nail, using the color that is NOT your base coat. (So if your base coat is green, use yellow!)
Step Four: Once the paint sets, gently remove the hole reinforcers and apply your top coat.
6. O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree
Step One: Apply your base coat. We chose a nice neutral, because the end product is going to want to stand out on its own
Step Two: Gently secure two strips of tape in an upside down V-shape.
Step Three: Using green polish, paint inside your new triangle formation.
Step Four: Once the green polish sets, cover it with a gold-base glitter polish. The glitter will be the ornaments!
Step Five: Gently remove the tape and apply a top coat.
Step Six: What's a Christmas tree without a star? While your top coat is still wet, grab your trusty pair of tweezers and use them to drop a rhinestone on top. Cover it again with a top coat so that it stays in place.
7. French Tip
Step One: Apply a navy blue base coat.
Step Two: Once your base coat dries, apply stripping tape near the tip of your nail.
Step Three: Apply scotch tape at the bottom of your nail.
Step Four: Paint the top half of your nail with a glittery silver polish.
Step Five: Once the paint sets, gently remove both tapes and apply your top coat. Oo la la!
8. Lady Bug
Step One: Cover your nails with a red base coat
Step Two: Using black polish, apply a vertical line straight through the center of your nail.
Step Three: Apply a horizontal black line near the tip of your nail.
Step Four: Fill in the top with your black polish.
Step Five: Using a dotter (or a bobby pin), add some black polka dots.
Step Six: Using a bigger dotter, apply to white dots at the tip.
Step Seven: Fill in those eyes with pupils. Let it dry, then apply your top coat.
9. Festive Snow Flake
Step One: Paint your nails with a light blue base coat.
Step Two: Using white polish, paint a vertical line going through the center.
Step Three: Now paint a horizontal line going through the center.
Step Four: Paint leaves coming out of the top and the bottom.
Step Five: Paint an X-shape that criss-crosses through the center.
Step Six: Add even more leaves!
Step Seven: Apply your top coat, and get ready to make Jack Frost swoon.
10. Rainbow Polka Dots
Step One: Using a white polish, apply your base coat.
Step Two: Using a dotter (or bobby pin), dot your nails with your desired colors. We started with purple near the cuticles, and worked our way up to red near the tips.
Step Three: Apply your top coat (and try not to confuse your nail as skittles).
11. A Sparkly Half Moon
Step One: Using a light peach (or any neutral polish), apply your base coat.
Step Two: With a glittery gold polish, draw a rounded line from one end of your nail towards the center. Repeat the same with the other end, so that the two lines meet.
Step Three: Fill it in with more glitter polish, then finish it off with a top coat. If you looked any more fabulous, you'd be Sailor Moon.
12. Christmas Tree with a Twist
Step One: Start with your base coat. We chose a deep emerald.
Step Two: Apply two strips of tape, forming an upside-down V.
Step Three: Apply two more strips of tape, in a criss-cross.
Step Four: Using a glittery gold polish, paint inside the triangle formation.
Step Five: Once the polish sets, gently remove the strips of tape and apply your top coat. Merry Christmas!
