Walking in heels flawlessly has sometimes been compared to magic. Let's face it, no one wants to be that girl walking down the runway. But have you tried taping your toes together? That's just ONE secret to making certain shoes (like your favorite pair of heels) work. Read on to find out more!
2. This Simple Trick Helps Alleviate Pain When Wearing Heels
Who What Wear is just one publication promising the tape trick really works! They say taping your toes together with medical tape, or even Scotch tape, helps take the pain away from the ball of your foot. This is key!
Writer for XoJane, Christina Seimenis, tested this out for herself! She taped one foot and not the other, to see if it really made a difference.
"I wasn't expecting any major results, but it actually does work, you guys!
While my right foot quickly went numb on the bottom, with my big toe feeling especially numb and achy, my left foot remained unaffected. After a while, both feet hurt, but the left one hurt considerably less and didn't feel numb and cramped up; I think it hurt more from the bad fit of the shoe than the awkward heel position."
Taping your toes together isn't the only secret to perfect shoe wearing! Give some of these helpful tips a try too.
Have you ever been scared of slipping because of your shoes? Try sanding the bottom! Don't worry, this won't make your shoes look ugly. Simply rub the sandpaper on the bottom of your shoes (no one will see it).
This can be used with any kind of shoe, heels and flats especially. Once you have your socks and heels on, blast the tight spot with your blowdryer. The heat will help expand and stretch the tight area.
Waterproofing your shoes is easier than you think! All you need is a blowdryer (probably under your bathroom sink) and some beeswax (found at most hardware stores or Amazon). Rub the beeswax over the WHOLE shoe, then use a blow dryer to seal it all in. The wax should melt all over your shoe. Let that set in for about 5 minutes, then test it out with some water.
