Dressed to the nines in a coral dress, some sparkling shoes and a killer tiara, Destiny McLemore, a special needs junior from Anderson High School in Anderson, Indiana, had the best prom ever thanks to her perfect prom date.
It was a bold promposal and it totally worked. He replied instantly on Facebook and accepted her invitation. Not only did she snag a date for prom, but Grant is one of the most popular students at the school, having won homecoming court two years in a row! Get it, Destiny!
Destiny's mom, Angi McLemore, was moved by Grant's acceptance of her daughter. Angi has experienced mistreatment of her daughter because of her special needs and she was thrilled that Grant not only wanted to go with her, but also wanted to make sure her night was special.
"I've gotten used to the looks and the stares. It's hard when you see a lot of other kids doing things that your child doesn't get to do," Angi said in an interview with WTHR.
Every day leading up to prom, Destiny would ask her mom if it was prom day. When the big day finally came, Grant came to pick Destiny up and Angi sent her daughter off to have the best night ever, just like any other high school senior.
