Due to the brain damage, Charley cannot see. She also cannot move her body. And yet, despite all of this, Charley is living an extraordinary life thanks to an epic bucket list her parents have created for her.
It all started when Charley was on the verge of death and needed to be resuscitated. Her mother, Jenn, turned to her husband, Mark and told him, “We came really close to losing her, What are we gonna say at her funeral? If she did die now, what do we say?” Hooper recalled.
It was then that Jenn decided to come up with a bucket list. “I thought, well, it's a way to make some memories, to try and get this kid an extraordinary life, not just an ordinary one. She's here for a good time, not a long time ...”
So Jenn asked herself, “What would a little girl want?” It’s a simple question and yet, it elicited one hell of a list. “A lot of the things on the list are crazy," Charley’s mother explained. “It's a bucket list. It's not a 'Things To Do On The Weekend' list.”
Jenn, together with her husband, and a supportive community, has already helped the girl tick some of the things on the list. Charley has gotten a massage on a tropical beach. She has also gone on a cruise.
But there are more crazy-epic things that Jenn wants her daughter to do. There are many more things that haven’t been ticked off the list. Now, through her Facebook page, Jenn hopes to help her girl tick off more of these things.
This is more than an epic bucket list that Jenn has done for her daughter. With each year that passes, with each goal ticked off the list, the Hoopers are successfully seeing their daughter live an epic life.
