One astute fan pointed out that Dumbledore tells us that Harry survived Voldemort's attack thanks to Harry's mother's, Lily, protection. It's the same thing that saved Harry from dying as a baby. But the missing detail here is that the final horcrux had to be destroyed in order for Voldemort to be killed. This means Harry himself had to be destroyed.
Think Harry didn't have the elder wand? Think again. He'd won its allegiance in a battle with Draco. So the truth is that Lily had nothing to do with saving Harry. Harry was already the Master of Death.
If Harry did the same as his mother did, then he would have died for the people that he loved. He says it himself: "I've done what my mother did. They're protected from you. Haven't you noticed how none of the spells you put on them aren't binding? You can't torture them. You can't touch them."
