The cast of Stranger Things is set to return to the the world of 1980's Hawkins, Indiana. The plot has been kept pretty secretive thus far, so fans don't quite know what to expect. Luckily, the actors of the show recently chimed in on the matter.
Why will the show will feel so much more energized? Part of the reason is it will have a larger scope. The first season was set almost entirely in the characters' tiny suburban town. Season two will have more locations, and even open somewhere not in Hawkins.
Matt Duffer assures us we'll get more of what we love and what we crave from the show.
"The good news is that a lot of what we wanted to see or what we responded to, that seems to be what the audience responded to. Like, we fell in love with Gaten [who plays Dustin], and there were aspects, like Barb, we were already planning to deal with. It felt like there was a nice alignment between what we wanted to see and what other people wanted to see."
Season two will have several major plot lines. They're still shrouded in mystery, but we've learned some of them. They include questions such as "Who is MadMax?" and "Is Will just experiencing PTSD or is it something worse?"
So we've got a bigger setting and a bigger story. What else could we ask for? How about a bigger cast? One addition is actor Sean Astin, who's perfect for this '80s nostalgia series starring a pack of kids as he's a star of the iconic film The Goonies.
