Teens are actually obsessed with their social lives, not the phones. Teens have always been obsessed with their social lives, gossiping back and forth constantly. It's nothing new, we just have better technology to facilitate it nowadays.
The truth is, we'd love to work. But with the collapse of the economy, the job market has suffered immensely, and so have recent college graduates. It's hard to get a job when they're just not out there. The best we can usually do is an unpaid internship, which are exploitative to say the least.
Again, we're not asking for much. A living wage would be nice, and that's why we demand a $15 minimum wage. It's literally that: the minimum we need to get by. I don't think that's too selfish to ask for.
We organize marches, fundraisers and call our representatives. Yes, many people just click a few buttons and feel like they're fighting the power. But millennials are very active in politics and are a strong force in coming together and making our voices heard loud and clear.
We don't want special treatment. We want equal treatment. It's really not that crazy of a thing to ask for, and the fight for equality has been around before any of us were even born. We're just continuing it.
