Wejherowo is a town in Poland. During the winter, it can be hit with some blizzards.
The town was named after this man, Jakub Wejher. He was a 17th century nobleman and military leader.
Not only did Wejherowo name their town after Jakub Wejher, they also made this statue of him. As you can see, it shows him striking a bold, heroic pose.
They got the statue into the holiday spirit by putting a Santa hat on him. But during a blizzard, the statue undergoes an even more magical transformation.
That's right, during a snow storm, Jakub Wejher becomes Darth Vader. That's a twist almost as big as the ending of The Empire Strikes Back.
Naturally, the town's paper posted a photo of Darth Wejher on their Facebook page and Instagram account. The photo quickly went viral.
How do you know when the Internet has truly embraced you? When you're turned into a meme, of course.
The Polish statue isn't the only one to undergo a Star Wars-related transformation. In the Ukraine, this statue of Lenin had to be taken down due to a law banning Communist symbols. But the statue wasn't gone for long.
Instead, they altered the statue and turned it into Darth Vader. They even converted Darth's helmet into a Wi-fi hotspot.
In Japan, they didn't convert an existing statue into Darth Vader. Instead, this giant Darth ice sculpture was created for the Sapparo Snow Festival in 2015.
