For years, the couple worked on guest charter boats. One night, while anchored in St. Thomas, they had the strong craving for pizza that we are all accustomed to. According to Bloomberg, they spent the entire night fantasizing about how amazing it would be if there were a pizza shop floating by on the water.
According to Bloomberg, Sasha designed a specific and unique hood ventilation system to get the heat out of the galley of the boat. Since making pizza can get dirty and require the use of a lot of dishes, they knew they'd need a surplus of water. A graduate of MIT, Sasha installed a DIY watermaker that creates 40 gallons per hour.
It may be a pizza shop that's floating along the water, but it has standard business hours. PiZZA Pi is open from 11am-6pm daily, and will even deliver (within Christmas Cove, where the boat is anchored).
