Golf was one of the few sports that women could play in the Olympics. But in the Women's World Games, organized by the International Women's Sports Federation, they could compete in sports like basketball and track & field.
The Women's World Games had many outstanding athletes. This is Halina Konopacka, winner of the discus throw at the 1930 Women's World Games. She was also not only the first female Polish Olympic champion, she was the first Polish Olympic champion period.
