Nickelodeon was all about crazy neon colors and pouring green slime on people, and we literally couldn't get enough. This kid's network featured the most iconic shows on television, and even the studios in Orlando, Florida looked like a little wacky slice of childhood heaven.
Was your Saturday evening really complete without tuning it to the hilarious variety of comedy skits on All That? Amanda Bynes was in her acting prime and all was well in the world. Nickelodeon was the fabric that held some of our most cherished memories together, but not everything can stay perfect forever — even when it comes to our favorite childhood stars.
Drake and Josh was a sitcom that aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 until 2007, and it gathered a cult following, even years later. The charisma between Drake Bell and Josh Peck was pretty evident, making their role as step-brothers on television pretty believable. Unfortunately, things haven't been so amicable these days.
Josh Peck got married to his girlfriend Paige O'Brien in a beautiful Malibu wedding in June, and obviously, all of us were swooning over the intricate affair. Peck's closest friends — including John Stamos — were in attendance, but one important pal was undoubtedly missing.
Drake Bell — obviously distraught over his co-star's betrayal — took to Twitter to throw some shade towards Josh Peck's subtle hint towards their friendship. This was followed by endless memes regarding the situation, thanks to the internet.
All social media platforms have been flooding with memes regarding Josh Peck's heartless decision to not invite his partner-in-crime Drake Bell. Josh Peck responded to the drama by revealing the two haven't really been in contact, which just made our hearts break even more.
Although the awkward split between Drake and Josh leaves a bad taste in our mouths, there has recently been a reunion between Josh and another Nickelodeon star that seriously lifts our spirits. Turns out not all of our childhood dreams have been torn apart.
Victorious aired on Nickelodeon between 2010 and 2013, and the show centered around 16-year-old Tori Vega — played by actress Victoria Justice — as she navigates going to a high school for the performing arts. This sitcom produced more than one recognizable star, and the music industry greatly benefited.
9. The Shows — And Its Cast — Became A Huge Success
Those who aren't familiar with the show would be surprised to learn that one of the biggest stars in music had her beginnings on the set. Ariana Grande's career took off from her role on Victorious, even though she obviously has moved on long ago. Her cast mate has stronger ties to the Nickelodeon brand.
10. Victoria Justice Is Practically The Face Of Nickelodeon
Other than starring in Victorious, she also appeared on Zoey 101 and iCarly, some of the most memorable Nick shows to ever air. Remember when Britney Spear's younger sister attended Pacific Coast Academy? Justice has recently been spotted, and another Nickelodeon star is showing he hasn't cut all ties to his children's network past.
11. Josh Peck And Victoria Justice Reunited Recently
These two former Nick stars crossed paths at the grand opening of the Highlight Room in Hollywood, and they couldn't help but capture the moment. Justice posted the picture to Twitter with the caption, "this guyyyyyyyyy, great seeing you." Peck was quick to reciprocate the love.
Josh Peck was thrilled to retweet the picture with the caption, "got me right in the childhood, good seeing u!" Our hearts are instantly full again. It turns out that Josh Peck's old co-star has been having some Nick reunions of his own, and we can't help but be overwhelmingly thrilled.
The other half of the Drake and Josh duo has been feeling slightly nostalgic himself. Bell met up with Devon Werkheiser of Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide this past April, and it brings us all back. Werkheiser tweeted the photo and said, "ran into some old friends today, we haven't aged a day."
Drake and Josh may no longer be friendship goals, but at least we can watch re-runs and pretend. Not all Nickelodeon friendships were built to last, but at least we have a few we can count on. It was fun and hilarious while it lasted, fellas.
15. It's Great To Reminisce With Our Childhood Favorites
It's as if we have traveled back in time and getting slimed is once again the ultimate compliment. Seeing our favorite cast members reunite is just so wholesome. It could all be so simple; bringing back all of the Nickelodeon classics would just make all of our dreams come true.
