All you have to do is slice a ripe avocado in half (the long way), stick a sharp knife horizontally into the pit, and twist the knife until the pit pops out. Anyone who cooks will know the struggle of peeling garlic by hand. It takes forever and it’s just plain annoying!
To save a ton of time, break up a head of garlic and place in a bowl - no need to remove the skin, just break up the separate pieces. Next, take another bowl of the same size, place it on top of the first, and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. When you remove the bowl, you can easily pop off any excess skin, but other than that, you’ll have nicely peeled garlic cloves ready to cook!
Regular old ice cubes are pretty boring, and they dilute your drink when they melt! Instead, make ice cubes out of berries or small pieces of fruit. Just pop your fruit of choice in the freezer for a little while and you’ve got yourself some sweet ice cubes that you can eat and won’t dilute your drink!
If you’re still working on your chopsticks skills, use this trick: Take a plastic bottle cap and cut three holes in it — one for each chopstick to go through — and then one on the other side big enough for both to fit through.
