In Texas, one group of four couples decided they didn't ever want to fall out of touch. So they came up with an idea. Instead of losing touch when people move to different areas, they did the opposite.
The four couples were all fans of the tiny house movement. It's the idea that people can live in smaller spaces in order to live more simply. The typical American home is 2,600 square feet, but a tiny house is 100-400 square feet.
They also built a fifth tiny building. It's a 1,500-square foot community space with a kitchen, dining area, and a space for guests. So there's a home for each couple, and another tiny home for the whole group.
In addition, the homes were built to deal with the Texas heat. The metal siding is galvanized, which helps keep from absorbing too much of that hot Texas sun. Insulation also keeps it from getting too hot in the summer or too cool in the winter.
However, the homes are so cool that living here full time might not be a bad idea. The names of the couples have not been revealed, but it might be a good idea to make friends with them. Maybe you could talk them into letting you visit when they're not in use.
