Bagels were already wonderful, so who could have known they were going to get even better? Rainbow bagels are taking the world (or maybe just New York City) by storm these days. Add a little magic to your breakfast.
Listen, regular Oreos are great. If you're a Double Stuf person, you do you, friend. But these brand new Oreo Thins are magical. I was worried too. Worried they wouldn't be satisfying. Worried the cookie/creme ratio would be off. But I had nothing to fear. They are perfect. Like Oreos, but crispier, thinner, almost like cookie chips. Also you don't have to feel as guilty when you eat a whole sleeve of them.
Some genius found a way to make socks that detect when you start to get sleepy and automatically signal your TV to pause the show you're watching. How incredible is that? There's a tutorial available, but me being the lazy, Netflix binge-watcher that I am, I'm gonna wait 'til someone starts selling them.
Another innovative food item is making its way through the Instagram accounts of New York City, and that's the Eggloo. It's a Hong Kong-style egg waffle, shaped into a cone and filled with all manner of ice cream, toppings and sauces. It's pretty much everything you could ever want in one paper cone.
Life magician and designer Kim Keun Ae designed the Drop Rest mug, which has a tiny groove in it. This tiny groove does wonders though. It catches any drips of liquid, preventing the staining of important work papers with your sloppy coffee habits. It's amazing, and we want a million of them. Read more about it here.
The everything bagel donut from The Doughnut Project in NYC is breaking breakfast/dessert barriers like nothing that came before it. It has a sweet cream cheese glaze and is topped with your favorite everything bagel toppings: poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, sea salt and pepitas.
Speaking of donut hybrids, someone shaped one like an ice cream cone, fried it, and used it...as an ice cream cone. We want to bow to this person. These cones are popping up all over the world. Here's to hoping they pop up right next to you sometime soon.
Designed by Hussein Chalayan for Puma, the Urban Mobility Backpack has a hood built right into it! Now, you don't have to look like an idiot when you put your backpack on over your hoodie and spend five minutes reaching behind you trying futilely to pull your hood out from under it. Read more about it here.
