On September 30, Netflix premiered Marvel's Luke Cage after much anticipation. We were all obsessed with Mike Colter after first meeting him in Jessica Jones, so you can imagine the hype that surrounded this series.
Of course, as with any good pop culture event, there was a ton of backlash that took the Twittersphere by storm. It's like internet trolls just lurk in the corners, waiting to pounce.
This time, the anger is so insane and bizarre that it's hard to ignore. Apparently, there are a ton of white people out there who are convinced that Luke Cage is racist because there aren't "enough" white people in the show.
According to these morons, the lack of white people in the show "makes them uncomfortable."
Right...so nevermind that the cast of Luke Cage is a powerhouse of talent, featuring Mahershala Ali, Rosario Dawson and Alfre Woodard. Nevermind that the character of Luke Cage appearing on the small screen is a huge milestone for diversity.
Forget all of this because white people are angry!
