Go ahead and take a good look at your hands. Did you ever believe there was any truth to palm reading? Sure, your skepticism is valid. But you have at admit you are a little curious as to what your palm says about you, even if it is complete BS. Well, did you know there was more to palm reading than just the major lines in your palm?

Before we get into the less noticeable markings, there are five major lines you need to know. There is the heart line, headline, life line, fate line and the sun line. The first three are pretty straightforward. The heart line has to do with love. The head line speaks to your intellectual capacities. The life line is simply how long you will live. The fate line speaks to how events outside your control will dictate your life. The sun line dictates if you will live a lucky life. 

Besides these five major lines, there are over a dozen other patterns on your hands that indicate various aspects of your life. These markings are either a positive or negative events throughout the course of your life. It’s likely you’ll only have a few of the markings on your own hands. So, use your dominant hand and see what life has in store for you. 

Grills aren’t good, people. If you have any lines that crossover and form a grill, you’re in for some nasty weather. They represent problems and adjusting to new situations. They can represent a barrier to your own advancement, as well as insecurity and confusion. 

A chain is a series of circles on a line, and they represent an obstacle in your life. They can mean obstacles in one’s love life. The number of circles dictates how many obstacles you will have to face. The length of the chain denotes how long you will have to deal with the issues. 

Breaks in the major lines of your hand can indicate both positive and negative experiences. It depends on where the breaks are and what direction they are pointing. Breaks that point up and outwards mean an unexpected journey. Downward breaks toward the center of the palm can mean a change in one’s routine. Breaks towards your thumb can mean a career change. 

Dots can be difficult to spot on the hand, and they don’t bring any good news. They can mean poor health, the deterioration of a romantic relationship. They also stand for events that caused a crisis in someone’s life. They are known to disappear once the crisis has been dealt with. 

Crosses aren’t a good sign, either. They mean long-lasting problems. Yay, who doesn’t love those? They can represent an enemy trying to harm you, or an outside influence causing you stress. 

Islands are found in breaks in the major lines, where a circle forms. Guess what? These aren’t good either. They mean you're due for some stress, caused by work or by another person. They can also signify poor health, especially heart problems. 

The letter “M” is a rare marking. You should consider yourself lucky if you have one. It is formed by three of the major lines: heart, head and life. It means good fortune. It also signifies a trustworthy person. 

Tassels, a.k.a. frayed lines, represent chaos or confusion. They’re usually found at the end of the life line and they represent mental and physical breakdown. Yay, so much to look forward to. Okay, let’s look at another lucky marking. 

Small intersecting lines that form a star represent success and luck, most of the time. If it is found on the life line it can mean a stressful time. If it is found at the end of one of the other major lines, it can mean that you are destined for fame. 

If you’ve got a triangle on your dominant hand, that may mean that you are touched with the psychic gift. They are lucky markings and if found on a line, triangles strengthen the characteristics of that line. They also mean that someone is intelligent. 

Squares can be a good sign. If found on a line without a break, it may represent a moment in time when the person felt trapped. But, if found along line breaks they can mean protection, especially from a guardian angel. 

Good things come in threes, that’s supposedly what’s expected if you have a trident on your palm. A person with a trident on their hand is meant to live a happy, healthy and wealthy life. Now I am desperately searching my hand for a trident. Alas, I’m destined for misery.
