Talenti's gelato comes in a bunch of fancy and delicious flavors like Sicilian Pistachio, Tiramisu and Caribbean Coconut, and it's also available at grocery stores around the country. At $8 per pint it's the lowest-priced frozen treat on our list, but it might still require some savvy budgeting in order to try all 34 flavors.
Ice cream is great, right? In fact, the only way ice cream could be more great is if someone was crazy enough to combine ice cream with alcohol. And Silver Moon Ice Cream has done just that! With flavors like Bourbon Vanilla Bean and Créme de Mint Chip, the $10 price tag is (in our opinion) totally worth the splurge.
Pennsylvania-based Capogiro creates artisanal gelato in flavors like Rosemary Honey Goat's Milk, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla and Wildflower Honey. If you don't live in Pennsylvania, don't despair! You can order Capogiro's gelato through their online storefront. The only "catch" is you have to order the $10 pints in groups of 6 (for a total of $60)...but you also get 6 pints of gelato, so it all works out.
These days you can order a subscription for pretty much anything ”” including ice cream! For $30 a month, you can get 2 pints of MilkMade ice cream in unique flavors like Torched S'more and Brooklyn Ambrosia delivered right to your door. In other words, you basically never have to leave your house again.
Capannari Ice Cream is located in Mount Prospect, Illinois, but you can enjoy pints of their ice cream anywhere in the country by ordering online. For $99.95 you get 6 pints of their delicious ice cream delivered to you in classic flavors like Vanilla and Cake Batter, or the more adventurous Black Forest Licorice. That averages out to about $17 per pint, but that's only like...50 cents per bite, which is totally reasonable.
If nothing on this list has tickled your fancy so far, you can take things into your own hands by ordering pints of custom ice cream from eCreamery. You can choose from over 30 flavors of ice cream and over 40 different mix-ins, and even design a custom title and label for your ice cream, which will then be delivered in as little as 2 days. 4 pints of your custom creation will set you back $85 ”” the price of artistry.
Alright, hopefully you found something you like in the first half of this list, because things are about to get crazy. As we move into our more cost-prohibitive creams, we have the $95 Truffle Ice Cream from barMasa in Las Vegas' Aria Resort. If truffles aren't quite decadent enough for you, don't worry ”” the ice cream is also decorated with gold leaf.
The Scoopi Cafe in Dubai (where else?) sells what may be the most expensive single scoop of ice cream in the world. It's made of Madagascar vanilla ice cream and decorated with saffron, slices of black truffle and (of course) gold flakes. Sure, there might be a wiser way to spend $817, but I don't think there's a tastier one!
But, for a mere $1,000, you can enjoy the Golden Opulence Sundae from New York City's Serendipity 3 restaurant. The sundae includes the typical ice cream, chocolate and gold combo you've come to expect from fancy foods, but also throws in some dessert caviar, truffles and candy sugar flowers for good measure. But don't book your ticket to NYC for this afternoon ”” you'll need to order this frozen delight at least 48 hours in advance.
If 48 hours is too long to wait to spend $1,000, just head on over to the Langham Hotel in Chicago. At its Pavilion restaurant, you can order The Victoria: vanilla and chocolate ice cream, gold leaf and gold dust, and a hand-crafted chocolate crown all come together to make this decadent dessert. It's also served in a Wedgewood Crystal bowl you can keep after/if you finish, as well as a bottle of Dom Pérignon.
Another $1,000, another ice cream sundae featuring gold leaf. This time it's the Mauboussin Mega Sundae from Bagatelle. In addition to the gold leaf, this sundae also features Dom Pérignon Rosé sorbet, chocolate truffles, macarons and chocolate vodka sauce. Oh, and ice cream. Upon ordering the sundae, you also get a Mauboussin ring made of black steel and white gold, presumably so you can pretend the ice cream is proposing to you ”” and of course you'll say yes.
13. World's Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae "” $3,333.33
Although the total cost of this banana split from Three Twins Ice Cream is $3,333.33, only two-thirds of that price goes to the dessert ”” the other third of it is donated to a local land trust. The sundae is served with an ice cream spoon from the 1850s and drizzled with syrups made from rare dessert wines. It's also accompanied by a cello performance specifically for the customer. Ah, to be rich....
Although it's not technically ice cream, we couldn't leave Serendipity 3's $25,000 Frrrozen Haute Chocolate off the list. In addition to being made with very high quality milk and cocoa, the dessert includes 5 grams of gold (of course), and requires that the world's most expensive chocolate truffle, La Madeline au Truffe be flown in from France. The Haute Chocolate is served in a golden goblet with a golden spoon with some diamonds thrown on there for good measure.
I know what you're thinking: "Hey, that's not ice cream; that's Mount Kilimanjaro!"
You're right! That's because the last ice cream dessert on our list ”” the Absurdity Sundae from Three Twins Ice Cream ”” requires that you first travel to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Once there, the company's founder will hand-churn a batch of ice cream made from glacial ice that is predicted to disappear within 10-15 years. The $60,000 price tag on this dessert includes air fare, accommodations, a guided climb and a large donation to an African environmental nonprofit...as well as an organic cotton T-shirt!
