Feminism is great! But, like all great things, it can be misinterpreted by people sometimes.
Here are some examples of times that men and women on the internet got feminism way, way wrong.
Merriam-Webster is judging you and you should judge you:
the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities
Lesson learned: Never assume. Just kidding! This is the internet; it'll never learn its lesson! Yay!
"But paternity tests are important in case there are any diseases that run in the family."
"NO, PATRIARCHY IS THE ONLY DISEASE."
Or maybe, just maybe, it's a cute dog riding a bicycle with no agenda? Just a wild guess.
Women are already Pokemon masters. And Pokemon is definitely real. And I was definitely very popular in my formative years. Definitely.
To be fair, it worked out for Wonder Woman. But most civilizations need men to, you know, continue to exist.
I hate to be the bearer of good news, but if you believe that men and women are equals, you're a feminist.
"A mother shouldn't raise her son the way she wants to raise him. Yep, I'm a hero!"
Even worse, autocorrect changed my "f**king" to "ducking." Stop CENSORING ME, software with no opinions or emotions!
"I'm a bit of a feminist, but...(insert statement that sets us back a few decades)."
I'm sure this is exactly what Susan B. Anthony was fighting for.
How about ALL people are, for the most part, stupid. See? Nice and equal!
Sometimes when people get things so wrong, all you can do is laugh. Then you can get right back to pushing for equality!
