Carla Rinaldi, the senior colorist at Not Another Salon in London, created the look. Rinaldi says that the process starts with bleaching the strands of hair that are going to be colored. "If your hair is not dyed a clean white before you color it, you hair won't be able to process the bright colors of the rainbow," explains Rinaldi.
"It's a high-maintenance look. These colors are temporary, so they do fade. If you want to keep the vibrancy of the rainbow, you need to come to the salon once every two weeks. But if you want it to fade to a pastel rainbow, you can come back every six weeks," says Rinaldi.
Because the color is placed in areas that only show if the hair is up, the look creates a fun pop of color when rocking a bun or ponytail. In other words, you can make yourself feel like a real live My Little Pony!
