What would you do if you found out that your neighbor was abusing their dog? What action would you take if you looked out your window one day and saw the poor pup muzzled with duct tape around his mouth and chained up on a tight leash all alone?
A man was fed up after seeing a dog next door being tortured day in and day out and finally called 911. When the cops arrived they said they couldn’t do much but ask the neighbors to take better care of the dog. They felt the dog wasn’t being neglected enough for it to be considered animal abuse. I guess the duct tape around its mouth wasn’t abuse?
Some time passed and the man saw no change in behavior and couldn’t stand seeing the senior dog all alone on the cold concrete any longer. He hardly had any water, there was no shelter and no toys. It was time to step in.
He jumped the fence and snuck into the neighbor’s backyard in an attempt to steal the dog. He risked getting caught and put himself in a potentially dangerous situation for the pup, who we now know is named Alfie.
He was not able to to keep the dog because of his job, but he did some research and found a rehabilitation center for senior dogs so he can be taken care of. Alfie was well on his way to start a new life.
Senior dogs are very hard to adopt, but thanks to special senior homes, older dogs are taken care of, loved, pampered and looked after. The centers allow animals to stay there and also have adoption centers to help them find a forever home.
Eventually Alfie was adopted and he found a family that loves him unconditionally. Thanks to that man who jumped the fence to save him, Alfie now has a life filled with green grass, a comfy warm bed and a whole lot of treats and love.
