Recently, Disney released its third and final trailer for Beauty and the Beast, and there are so many similarities between the live action version and the 1991 animated version. Check out the images comparing the two versions below.
Beauty and The Beast will be in theaters March 17!
A lot of scenes from the live action remake look identical to the animated version. She almost looks like Hermoine in the Hogwarts library in this shot.
Luke Evans as Gaston is still pretty unbearable. One scene from the trailer was identical to the animated version with how Gaston praised himself in the mirror. But, you have to admit … Luke Evans is pretty handsome.
Maurice, Belle’s father, is a pretty short, portly guy, which almost makes you wonder how he produced Belle. She is seriously like a foot taller than him.
In the new version, Maurice is played by Kevin Kline. Like the 1991 version, he is an inventor and gets locked up by the Beast after he attempted to steal a flower off of his property.
The scene where Belle and the Beast play in the snow from the animated version was pretty cute. I hope they do a good job recreating it in the new version.
The live action Lumiere is more like a little statue of a man than a real candlestick holder. Ewan McGregor voices the French appliance in the new film.
The scene where Chip performed the trick of blowing bubbles for Belle was replicated to a T in the new movie. But you know what I always wondered? When all the appliances get turned back into humans, is Chip missing a piece of his head?
In the animated version, Cogsworth had a very pronounced face and had visible expressions. He sort of looked like the Chesire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

19. Real Life Cogsworth Looks Like A Regular Clock
In the live action version, Cogsworth (voiced by Ian McKellen) sort of just looks like a regular clock. He doesn’t seem to have the same lively face as the original Cogsworth.
The creators behind the live action version seem to have done a pretty good job with the ballroom scene. The clothing looks great. Belle’s dress looks almost identical to the original film.
Here’s to hoping the new movie will be as magical as the original. (Editor's note: IT BETTER!)
