1. New Trailer

Media Source

Recently,  Disney released its third and final trailer for Beauty and the Beast, and there are so many similarities between the live action version and the 1991 animated version. Check out the images comparing the two versions below.

Beauty and The Beast will be in theaters March 17!

2. Belle's Animated House

Media Source

In the 1991 version, Belle’s cottage looked quaint, but a bit lopsided. It also looks lilke there is a tree growing out of that basement.

3. Belle's Real House

Media Source

In the live action version, Belle’s house is still pretty quaint. It also looks like it’s located more in the center of the town.

4. Animated Belle Reads While Walking

Media Source

Belle may be the prettiest bookworm in all of literary history. She can’t even put down a book as she walks through the town.

5. So Does Live Action Belle

Media Source

Emma Watson as Belle recreated this scene. I don’t know if I’d be able to concentrate on what I was reading while walking.

6. Animated Belle Loved Hanging Out On Library Ladders

Media Source

During this scene of the 1991 film, Belle talks about her favorite book and many believe she was referring to Aladdin.

7. So Does Live Action Belle

Media Source

A lot of scenes from the live action remake look identical to the animated version. She almost looks like Hermoine in the Hogwarts library in this shot.

8. Animated Gaston Was A D**k

Media Source

Animated Gaston was a raging narcissist who enjoyed talking to his own reflection. Gotta admit though ... he did have a pretty mean jawline.

9. Live Action Gaston Is Still A Huge D**k

Media Source

Luke Evans as Gaston is still pretty unbearable. One scene from the trailer was identical to the animated version with how Gaston praised himself in the mirror. But, you have to admit … Luke Evans is pretty handsome.

10. Animated Maurice Is A Bit Different

Media Source

Maurice, Belle’s father, is a pretty short, portly guy, which almost makes you wonder how he produced Belle. She is seriously like a foot taller than him.

11. Live Action Maurice

Media Source

In the new version, Maurice is played by Kevin Kline. Like the 1991 version, he is an inventor and gets locked up by the Beast after he attempted to steal a flower off of his property.

12. The Animated Version Was Pretty Stylish

Media Source

The scene where Belle and the Beast play in the snow from the animated version was pretty cute. I hope they do a good job recreating it in the new version.

13. Looks Pretty Similar

Media Source

This photo from the snow scene looks pretty similar to the original. Belle’s outfit looks almost identical. And Emma looks just too pretty.

14. Animated Lumiere Was Pretty Slick

Media Source

The Lumiere from the animated version was one suave candlestick holder. He can melt my wax any day. Sorry, I don't even know what I meant by that.

15. Live Action Lumiere Looks More Human-Like

Media Source

The live action Lumiere is more like a little statue of a man than a real candlestick holder. Ewan McGregor voices the French appliance in the new film.

16. Chip Was Such A Cutie

Media Source

Chip from the animated version was such a little sweetheart. Also, his mama, Mrs. Potts was just the nicest teapot ever.

17. Chip Off The Old Block

Media Source

The scene where Chip performed the trick of blowing bubbles for Belle was replicated to a T in the new movie. But you know what I always wondered? When all the appliances get turned back into humans, is Chip missing a piece of his head?

18. Animated Cogsworth Had A Bit More Expression

Media Source

In the animated version, Cogsworth had a very pronounced face and had visible expressions. He sort of looked like the Chesire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

19. Real Life Cogsworth Looks Like A Regular Clock

Media Source

In the live action version, Cogsworth (voiced by Ian McKellen) sort of just looks like a regular clock. He doesn’t seem to have the same lively face as the original Cogsworth.

20. The Iconic Dance Scene

Media Source

The most recognizable scene from the original is hands down the ballroom scene. So I hope the live action version can live up to it.

21. Looks Pretty Good

Media Source

The creators behind the live action version seem to have done a pretty good job with the ballroom scene. The clothing looks great. Belle’s dress looks almost identical to the original film.

Here’s to hoping the new movie will be as magical as the original. (Editor's note: IT BETTER!)
