Anonymous recently announced that it was going to attack President Donald Trump, declaring total war on the 45th president. In a tweet the hacker group sent to him days before his inauguration, they warned him that he was "going to regret the next four years."
2. This Started, To No Surprise, With A Trump Tweet
This started after Trump fired off one of his harsh tweets, this time against the outgoing CIA director John Brennan. Brennan had criticized Trump for his lack of understanding of Russia as a threat, and Trump responded by blasting the CIA on their track record with Syria and the Ukraine.
They had threatened Trump in the past, during the 2016 presidential election. They started a campaign in April 2016, named #OpWhiteRose, after showing displeasure from his controversial statements on women and Mexican-American immigrants.
Most of the information Anonymous leaked the first time, like his personal phone number, was already widely available. Their attack on Trump in 2015, when the collective shut down the Trump Tower New York website and leaked personal voicemails, had little effect as well.
