When Rafael Mantesso turned 30, his wife left him. She took every single thing they had, except for probably the most important thing: their bull terrier, Jimmy Choo.
Mantesso was left in an empty, all-white apartment, so he began snapping photos of Jimmy in the all-white house. One day, he decided to grab a black marker and draw an entire world around his furry best friend.
Talk about a new zest for life! Just when the worst imaginable thing happens, something beautiful comes out of it.
Mantesso's pictures gained popularity (his Instagram has over 600,000 followers), and the creative director of Jimmy Choo, Sandra Choi, even reached out for him to collaborate, creating a special series for the shoe line.
Fast forward to Mantesso publishing a book, A Dog Named Jimmy: The Social Media Sensation.
It. Is. Amazing.
Jimmy is so adorable — it's impossible not to fall in love with him in all of his photographs!
Here he is just kicking back, playing a rousing game of Twister.
Here he is, cruising around, meeting some too-cool cats. They don't look very pleased with Jimmy.
Oh man, this picture might be my favorite. Try not to choke up with emotion at this Toy Story tribute.
Even if you're a dog, there's always time for a selfie.
Jimmy is the best, and we're so glad a rough moment in Mantesso's life turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise! Check out Mantesso's Instagram account to witness all the cuteness!
