The whole world mourned the loss of Michael Jackson when he died on June 25, 2009. Like David Bowie and Prince, he was taken from us far too soon. August 29, 2017 would have been Michael Jackson’s 59th birthday.
On his birthday, his daughter Paris used social media to pay him a beautiful tribute. If you scroll through her Instagram, you will see that Paris is all grown up now. When she was little, we never saw any pictures of her or her siblings because Michael kept them covered up.
She is Michael’s only daughter. Her older brother, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, was also born from the same marriage. Her little brother, Prince Michael II (Blanket) however, was born in 2002 to the pop star and an unidentified surrogate mother.
Since her father’s death, 19-year-old has been in the spotlight more and more throughout the years. She has become a public personality and is an advocate for peace. In March, Paris signed a modeling contract with IMG Models.
She has a strong online presence and often posts pictures of herself working or with friends. This is a different story than when she was little. When her father was alive he would cover her in blankets and masks to keep her from the public eye.
She posts a lot online and even posts pictures of herself as a child. However, she rarely posts pictures of her family. In honor of Michael’s birthday she posted some lovely throwback pictures of herself and her dad from her youth.
In this sweet picture, a very young Paris and her dad are sharing a kiss. Michael is wearing one of his most iconic outfits in the photo. He is even wearing the single silver-sequined white glove that he made famous.
“birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream. i will never feel love again the way i did with you.
you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one.
Many believe that his death could easily have been avoided had he not been given that lethal mix by his doctor Conrad Murray. In 2011 Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering the drugs. There has always been a lot of conspiracy surrounding his death, and Paris has been very vocal about what she thinks happened to her father.
In the February 2017 issue of Rolling Stone, Paris revealed that she believes that her father’s death was a “set up."
“All arrows point to that,” she said in the interview. “It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bulls**t, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bulls**t.”
Like her father, The King of Pop’s daughter also carries on his message of love, kindness and activism. She recently took the time during the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards to call out “Nazi white supremacist jerks." In her speech, she encouraged others to stand up against injustice.
In many ways, Paris and her brothers are living reminders of Michael Jackson’s legacy. The following is a speech made by Prince during the Grammy awards in 2010.
“Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity. Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped many charities and donated to all of them. Through all his songs, his message was simple: love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you. We love you, Daddy.”
