If The Little Mermaid is originally from Denmark, why does Sebastian have a Caribbean accent? Could he really swim all the way across the Atlantic Ocean? This is Disney, so I guess they just assumed that we would think anything is possible. Hey Disney, we aren’t buying it.
2. Why Is There Still A Glass Slipper After Midnight?
The Fairy Godmother transforms Cinderella for the ball but we all know that at midnight all her gifts will all disappear. Why then does the glass slipper stay a glass slipper after the clock strikes midnight? It then stays a glass slipper for days?! It just doesn’t make sense?
Why is it that Pluto is stuck on a leash, but Goofy gets to live a normal life? Goofy gets to run around freely and even gets to go golfing with Mickey Mouse. Why did Pluto get the short end of the stick? Someone please explain.
We know that he was cursed when he was a pre-teen, but why are his parents never mentioned? Who were they? Where did they go when he was cursed? If he was a Prince, then they were King and Queen. It’s seems like it would be pretty hard to disappear or run away if you were royalty.
There are anteaters in The Lion King and this doesn’t make any sense at all. Anteaters can be found in South and Central America. They can even be found in Uruguay and Argentina. But they are nowhere to be found in Africa. I guess Disney couldn’t resist putting these silly little creatures in their movie.
Why didn’t Aladdin lend the lamp to Jasmine? That way, she could make him a prince and then she could have given it back to Aladdin to save the genie! I guess it would have taken away the conflict of the end of the movie, but it doesn’t really make sense.
If she doesn’t know that anything exists beyond her home before she meets John Smith and the other English men, how does she speak their language? And not only does she speak it, she speaks it perfectly. Maybe they could have added some scenes or a song or cute little montage with him teaching her english in order to fill that major plot hole.
I’m sorry, but why would she ever be cool with Eric eating crab? When she dines with him at his castle, Eric has a dead crab on his plate and she doesn’t seem to mind at all. Ugh, girls will do anything to get a dude.
9. I Thought Buzz Lightyear Doesn’t Think He’s A Toy?
Whenever humans enter the room in Toy Story, the toys freeze, right? But early on in the movie, we are introduced to the idea that Buzz Lightyear doesn’t think he’s a toy. So, if that’s the case, why would he freeze? Wouldn’t he try to communicate with the humans instead?
In the beginning of The Little Mermaid, Ariel proves that she can read and write when she signs the contract with Ursula to take her voice. So if she can read and write, why doesn’t she communicate with Prince Eric that way? It would have been a whole lot easier for the two of them if she did.
In Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the dwarves spend most of their time mining for treasure and jewels. If they have been digging up treasure for years, why are they living so modestly? They share one little hut for crying out loud!! Don’t they want to cash in and buy something nice and spread out a little? I guess they aren’t ones to flaunt it.
12. Why Can’t Prince Charming Recognize Cinderella?
If they fell that hard for each other and it was love at first sight, how did he forget what she looked like? He is fitting the slipper on brunettes and women of all shapes and sizes. Wouldn’t he at least remember that she was a blonde? Men are so dumb sometimes.
13. Why Didn’t Scar Kill Simba When He Had The Chance?
Instead of just killing Simba right after he sets the wildebeests on Mufasa, Scar allows Simba to escape. He then sends the hyenas to do his dirty work. Why didn’t he just do it when he easily had the chance? Things may have turned out much differently for him if he did.
It is perfectly possible that Simba and Nala could have been half siblings. In the movie we see Mufasa and Scar, but do we see any other male lions? Ugh oh! I guess that is hard to explain to children and it’s better that it was left out of the plot.
In the movie Frozen, there is no explanation as to how Elsa got her powers. Disney always provides a flashback or story of how their characters got their powers, or punishments, etc. But not in Frozen. I guess we will have to let it go!
[Editor's note: We apologize for that last joke. On second thought...no, we don't.]
