Col de la Bonette is a high mountain pass in the French Alps close to Italy. The road sits 8,907 feet above the sea level and is located in the Mercantour National Park. A sign at the base of the mountain pass says, "Col de la Bonette, the highest road in Europe," which isn’t actually true. It is one of the top #25 highest mountain roads in Europe, but not the highest.
